What to expect

  • Patch test: before your first treatment you'll need a patch test to check for any reaction to the pigments.
  • Colour and shape: Charlotte chooses a colour to suit your skin tone and draws on the shape with you. Nothing is started until you're completely happy.
  • Treatment time: lip treatments can take up to 2½ hours.
  • Healing: lips can feel tender and look brighter for the first few days. The colour softens as they heal over the next few weeks.
  • Retouch: a complimentary retouch is offered 4–6 weeks after a new treatment to perfect the result.
  • How long it lasts: usually 12–18 months, depending on your skin, lifestyle and aftercare. A colour boost keeps your lips looking fresh.

Aftercare

You'll be given full aftercare advice and aftercare cream at your appointment. In general:

  • Keep your lips clean and use the aftercare balm as directed.
  • Don't pick or peel your lips while they heal.
  • Avoid lipstick and other lip products, swimming, saunas, sunbeds and strong sun until healed.
  • If you're prone to cold sores, please mention this when you book.
